texture

I generally like a clean, crisp, bright look to my images.  When I saw these, however, they seemed to have a vintage feel so I added some texture to the background.  I like how they turned out and might start applying this technique to a few images in each gallery.  If you book a session and like this look, but sure to let me know!

we. are. family.

I could go on and on about how much fun I had with this family, but I’m short on time . . . so I’ll let these images speak for themselves.  These girls are sisters, and they wanted to surprise their parents with some pictures for Christmas.  [So, if by some strange chance you know their parents, zip your lips!]  Thanks everybody for a fun time!

[A special shout out to Kyle for being the bag boy.  You did a great job!  I think you should be compensated in some way for your hard work!]

I could eat him with a spoon!

This little boy is sooooo cute, and he has killer eyes!  He kept me on my toes, but I love a good challenge!  I couldn’t be happier with how the images turned out, and I hope his mom and dad love them as much as I do!

Now, I’m not opposed to  bribery every now and then, and this bubble gum lollipop did the trick . . .

I even let him wear my sunglasses.  He’s one cool cat!

Carter5_blogThank you, mom and dad, for giving me the opportunity to photograph your little man.  I think I’m in love!

a couple of quick ones

I’m short on time, but here are a couple of images of a sweet little 4 month old I photographed recently.  Her parents are BIG UT fans, hence the dress.  She rocks it, though!  (And I’ll forgive them for being UT fans because I like them a lot!).

kdg1_blog

Here she is all fancied up in her tutu and frilly headband . . . a true princess!

1 great family + 2 furry friends

This is my friend, Sarah, and her family . . . they’re not afraid to have a little fun!

This is Harvey.  He’s one of the four-legged family members, and he’s a mess!  I love his spunk and how he gets so excited over a good stick!

Laser4_blog

This is Zena.  She’s a good girl, and she’s so pretty, too!  I think she and Harvey both deserve lots of treats for being such fabulous subjects for me!

Sorry to be so short on words, but it’s late & I’m heading to bed!  I’ve got a full day of editing ahead of me for tomorrow, so check back soon for new posts!

I couldn’t help but think . . .

. . . that this will be my son in nine years.  I know.  This post isn’t about me . . . but really???  Nine years???  He’s almost nine now, so he’s halfway there.  Wow.  Okay, moving right along (before this over-tired, emotional mama gets nostalgic) . . .

This is Ben, and he’s really a great guy.  He, like any other senior in high school, probably wasn’t completely thrilled about spending an afternoon in front of my lens.  He was a good sport, though, and I don’t think it was too painful.  He’s a handsome guy, and I hear that he’s pretty good at rugby.  There are a lot of great images from his session, but here are a few favorites.

Ben_blog

Ben, I wish you well as you graduate from high school.  What an exciting time in your life!  I am confident that God has some great things planned for you, and I look forward to hearing about them as you continue on your journey!

oh. my. goodness.

If this isn’t cute, then I just don’t know what is.  Seriously.  Look how precious this little girl is . . . are you kidding me?!?!  Pinch me . . . my job just can’t be this much fun!  {I may have to borrow her for a day or two.}  Thank you, mom, for letting me come in and make myself at home.  It was just like having a playdate (complete with a tea party)!  I hope you love these as much as I do . . .

beautiful family + one very cute pooch

I like this family a lot & they are fellow Geckos!  I get to see these handsome boys walking down the halls at my boys’ school every now-and-then.  In fact the youngest one is my oldest one’s “book buddy” (which I didn’t even realize at the time of the session!).  We met up on a beautiful Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago, and it was so great to be outdoors on such a fabulous day.  As you can see, the leaves were gorgeous, and my “subjects” weren’t too shabby either!  I chose this image of the four of them together to showcase on the blog because I think it’s so “them.”  The youngest one being his silly self with a little hint of mischief in his eyes & the oldest one being a little too cool for all of this picture stuff (I can say that because I have one of each of those myself!).

Isn’t that dog the cutest???  He’s so tiny, too!  Thanks Davis family . . . it was fun!

we’ve got the spirit, yes we do . . .

. . . we’ve got the spirit, how ’bout you?

I was NOT a cheerleader in high school (never could even do a cartwheel).  But you can have all kinds of spirit, and this little guy was into everyone having the FALL spirit!  I had a great day with him and his family at Percy Warner Park.

Here is his little sister . . . such a cutie!

And here’s the whole family . . . they’re great!

If you’re a Fido regular, you might have seen the dad in there.  If you’re not a Fido regular, shame on you . . . you should be.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: BEST sweet potato fries in town – hands down!
