MEMPHIS SESSIONS

MphsFlyer

Please email me (using the “contact” link above) for instructions on submitting your deposit.  This is a great way to get ahead on your holiday shopping!  These prints will be perfect gifts for friends and family (especially grandparents)!  I’ll be contacting those who submit their deposit to discuss further details and set up appointment times.  Please email me if you have any questions.  I can’t wait to see all my little Memphis friends (and the “big” ones, too)!

my favorites

No matter how many photographs I take of other children, these two kiddos right here will always be my favorites.  Don’t get me wrong.  I’ve worked with some amazingly cute, precious, adorable, fabulous children.  But you see, these are mine.  And I love them all the way to the moon and back.  I took them downtown yesterday because the weather was so nice that we just had to be outdoors.  We left the house with no real plans, and we had so much fun together!  They’re pretty crazy.  See? . . .

We went to the Farmer’s Market, where we enjoyed some fresh-squeezed lemonade.  We played around at Bicentennial Mall, and we stopped by Mike’s Ice Cream Fountain on Broadway for a sweet treat! We also walked down by the river, and the boys humored me while I did a mini, impromptu photo session!  It has been such a beautiful weekend here in Nashville, and I hope all of you have enjoyed it as much as we have!

Cory + Amy

Cory and Amy are getting married in October, and I had SOOO much fun with them during their engagement session earlier in the week!  We met on the Vanderbilt campus, and the weather was great!  They were willing to try whatever I suggested, and I left the session feeling as if I had made new friends (which is one of the things I love most about my job!).  They make a wonderful couple, and I’m so excited for them!  Here are a few favorites:

Thanks, Cory & Amy, for a fun time!  I hope you enjoyed your sushi!

too cool for school

Riley and Cole started back to school last Friday.  They went a half-day, got out at 11:30, and we headed to Chattanooga for the night.  We stayed downtown (I love a hotel with their very own Starbucks inside!) and had a really fun time walking around and going out to eat.  On Saturday we headed to Smyrna, GA for a family reunion.  We had been there about 30 minutes when Cole started complaining with aches and a sore throat.  He spent most of the time there lounging around downstairs watching TV.  I took him to the doctor when we got back into town on Sunday, and he was diagnosed with strep . . . AGAIN.  So, he missed the first two full days of school and finally went back today.  Here are a couple of pictures of them from last Friday.  (Very vibrant, I know.  We’re not afraid of a little color around here.  It’s just how we roll).

They’re riding the bus home this year, and these were taken when they got home.  I’ve since been instructed that I am NOT to meet them at the bus stop down the street – that they are fully capable of walking to the house by themselves.  I knew that was coming, but for some reason I didn’t think it would be this soon!

I’ve been incredibly busy over the past few weeks with sessions, editing, orders, product updates, etc.  I’ve been trying to juggle being a full-time mom AND running a business.  I really love both, and I was beginning to feel overwhelmed trying to give both my best.  Now that school is back in (and BOTH of my children are now going!), I’m working on getting caught up.  I have several sessions I need to blog, so stay tuned for some sneak peeks tomorrow!

a few more

I’m working on the final editing for this session and wanted to share a few more because they make me smile . . .

These next two are completely different images, but I love little man’s expressions (and hands) in both of them.  He’s gazing up at his mommy in the first one as if to say, “I know you love me more than anyone else in the world, and I love you, too.” The second one shows him working so hard to hold that sweet little head up, and he looks so proud!

I hope you all are having a good week!  We’re gearing up for school, which starts back on Friday.  I’ve enjoyed having the boys home this summer, but I must admit that I’m looking forward to getting back into more of a routine.  We found out who their teachers are tonight, the school supplies have been purchased, and we’re set to go!  I’ll try to post some “first day of school” pictures on Friday (mainly for the grandparents!).

Until then . . .

pretty girls

I spent some time with these sisters this morning, and it was HOT – even at 9 AM!  They were troopers, though, and I had a fun time getting to know them and their mom.  Here are a few favorites . . .

Thanks girls (and mom) for hanging out with me and enduring the heat!  I’ll be in touch as soon as your gallery is ready!

***attention memphis friends & clients***

I’ve had several people ask recently if I have any plans to come to Memphis to do photo sessions in the near future.  I’ve been busy building my clientele here in Nashville, but I’m not opposed to coming back to my old “stomping ground” to work a little, too!  If you would be interested in a Memphis session, please email me using the contact link above or leave a comment below and let me know.  If I get at least 8 responses, I’ll set a date to come over.

Here’s what I’m tentatively thinking:

  • one weekend (probably mid-to-late September) / I would most likely schedule sessions for Friday afternoon, Saturday morning & Saturday afternoon.
  • “mini-sessions” where I’m at a set location and you come to me
  • There would be some sort of special offer where $100 gets you the session and some print credit or discounted holiday cards or something like that.  If I get enough response, I’ll put together some options for people to choose from.

If you’re interested, let me know!  Thanks!

collage samples

I put these collage proofs together for a client yesterday and thought I’d share them because I think they’re precious!  They are customizable, so you choose your favorite images and have the option to add a name, date, quote, or whatever you’d like.  They’re mounted and sprayed for long-lasting protection, and they may be framed or displayed just as received.  They make GREAT gifts, too!

Hi everyone!

I {finally} created a Capture Photography fan page on Facebook. I’ll mainly be using it to tag clients with sample images from their sessions, and I’ll also use it to announce upcoming events, news, etc.

a quick sneak peek

rowan_blog1

I got to spend some time with this cutie yesterday morning, and I thought his mama and daddy might like a little sneak peek.  I photographed him as a newborn, and he’s already three months old!  He was pretty serious most of the morning, but I really love this sweet, faint smile . . . and those precious tiny hands!  I’ve been enjoying all these babies recently!  I’ll be switching gears a bit this week with a family session & an engagement session.

On a side note, I hope all my school-aged friends enjoy the last little bit of summer break!  T-minus 12 days and counting for us!
