I hope I sleep like this tonight!  I just had to post these two before I crawl into the bed { . . . yawn . . . }.  She’s such a little angel!

New Product Guide

pg_web

Things have been busy, busy around our house, and on top of all the regular day-to-day family and life stuff, I’ve been swamped with sessions, orders, and trying to work “on” Capture Photography and not just “in” it.  One thing I accomplished last week was updating my Product Guide.  It’s a document that contains all of the products I offer and their corresponding prices.  It also includes a cropping guide and samples of some specialty items like custom greeting cards, birth announcements, collages & storyboards.  It can be found on the pricing page of my website, or just click HERE to view it.

I’ve also been steadily working on greeting card options for the upcoming holiday season.  They were a BIG hit last year, and I’m pretty excited about a new line that will be available this year!  I’ll be blogging samples of those tomorrow, so be sure to check back!

perfect day for a picnic

Saturday was a GORGEOUS day here in Nashville, and I had the pleasure of spending it outdoors with some fabulous people at Camp Widjiwagan.  This is the second year that I’ve been invited to photograph the MARS Petcare company picnic, and it is so much fun!  If I ever quit photography (which will never happen), I think I might try to work for this company.  The employees and their families are invited out to an annual picnic, and they really know how to throw a party!  There’s everything from face painting and moon bounces to a yummy lunch and ice cream treats to boat rides and zip lines to a climbing tower, a dunk tank, and more!  It was the perfect day, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to document such a fun, special event!

it’s the little things in life

Cole lost his first tooth this week, and he was sooooo excited!  I had totally forgotten what a big deal it is to lose that first tooth.  We don’t know exactly what happened to it . . . it just disappeared!  My guess is that he swallowed it while eating dinner . . . oops!  Nevertheless, he was bouncing around with glee once he discovered* it was gone.  The other middle one on the bottom is loose, too, so I think he’s on a roll.  Watch out tooth fairy!

* “Discovered” is Cole’s word of the week.  I think I’ve heard him use it about twenty times just today.  Sometimes he has really funny vocabulary for a six year old, which is one of the things I love about him!

Also, don’t you just love his hair?!  My poor children inherited my “cowlicks” . . . bless their hearts . . .

new wheels

No.  I didn’t get a new car.

I got a bike!

I’ve been searching Craigslist for a couple of weeks now looking for an old beach cruiser.  I’ve had a mountain bike, but I’m not really the mountain bike type.  I’d rather ride on the road.  On a cute bike with a little basket on the front.  I finally found this one, so now I’ve got to go pick up a basket at a local used bike shop, and it will be complete!  It was really inexpensive, and I’m excited about being able to ride with my boys.  Bike riding is one of their favorite things to do this summer, so it’s something else we can do together.  Here are a few pictures I took quickly yesterday.  I’m not sure how old the bike is, but the seller said it’s probably from the early 80s.  I can’t wait to ride it to the store to pick up a few groceries or to my Starbucks down the street to meet a friend for coffee!

Well, that’s really all I have for today.  I was just excited about my new find, so I thought I’d share!  I’m trying to make good use of my time with Riley & Cole this summer, and I’m really loving the slower pace and the extra time we have to spend together.  This week we’ve played in the pouring rain, gone hiking at a Radnor Lake & gone bike riding together.  We’re having a good time!  I hope you are, too!

seems like yesterday . . .

. . . this sweet girl looked like this:

And now she’s gone and gotten all fancy with her sitting up and getting ready to crawl!  {She turned six months old and crawled for the first time the day before these were taken!}  Now, during our time together, she wasn’t really interested in smiling, which could seem a little unfortunate.  BUT, I love these, and I think they’re precious . . . smile or no smile . . . and look at her pretty blue eyes!

I’m a little sad that this sweet princess will be moving to Texas with her mom & dad soon.  Thankfully, she has family here in Nashville, so I know I’ll still get to see her from time to time!

I hope you all had a lovely 4th of July!  We had a really nice day, and now I’m off to bed to sleep to the wonderful sound of some much-needed rain . . . ahhh!

and the winner is . . . {insert drumroll} . . .
