great gift idea!

These sisters booked a session with me because they wanted to surprise their parents with photographs of them together for Christmas . . . what a fun, sweet idea!  The oldest sister (and she’s NOT old because we’re the same age!) and her husband are expecting a baby next spring, so we did a few of them together as well.  This first one might be my favorite of the girls together, and I wasn’t sure whether I liked it better in color or black and white . . . what do you think?

When you’re in Nashville getting a shot like this . . . this is when people walk by and try to figure out what band this is!  Who are these girls?  Are they up and coming musicians?!  It’s really funny, actually.  I told them this should definitely be their album cover shot . . . ha! ha!

And one in front of the turquoise wall just because I like it!  Thanks girls for a fun session, and thanks Kevin for being such a great sunglasses holder and assistant!  I’ll be in touch soon once your gallery is ready.

fun.fall.family

I promised to post pictures today, and I’m barely squeezing the in before midnight!  I’m super tired, so I won’t write much (for fear that it might not make any sense when I read it in the morning!).  I enjoyed meeting this family at the Ellington Agricultural Center last week.  Little “A” here is beautiful and witty and so easy to get to know.  It didn’t take us any time to become friends.  Her little brother is adorable, and he was in heaven with all the rocks and grass and leaves.  I love watching little boys his age when they’re outdoors.  They’re so amazed by everything, and they tend to get really serious about all their discoveries!  Thanks mom & dad for the opportunity to photograph your family!  I’ll have your gallery up and running by tomorrow evening.  Okay, I’m off to bed now!

a few more . . .

Here are the rest of the Christmas cards.  If you have any questions about these, please feel free to ask!

more christmas cards

I’ve had a few clients ask me about Christmas cards with multiple spaces for photos.  Here are some new ones that I’m offering this year.  There are more [with a single photo] . . . hopefully I’ll be able to post those tomorrow.  I’m also working on editing four sessions from last week.  If you’re one of those families, hang tight . . . your galleries will be ready soon!  You can look for sneak peeks here on the blog tomorrow.

Until then . . .

four new friends

I had such a fun time with these kiddos last week!  The two older girls were so much fun to work with, and the babies are just precious!  This post is a little longer than usual because there are four of them and because I had a hard time choosing which ones share :) .  Here are a few of the oldest sister.  She loves animals, so we had fun discussing our kitties.  I love how natural she looks in the second picture.  I don’t mind that she isn’t smiling because I think this really reflects her.  And I really like the purple shirt on her.

Next we have the fashionista . . . is that really a word?  She likes clothes and shopping, and I like her Converse.  She was all about posing for me, and I love her eyes in the second picture.

And here they are together having a little fun and being silly for me . . .

This is the little man of the bunch, and he is so cute I wanted to pick him up and squeeze him!  I decided that probably wouldn’t be the best idea, though, since this was his first time to meet me (and I didn’t really want pictures of him crying and hiding from the crazy lady with the camera!).  I love, love, love his curls, and can you believe that he had even more prior to getting his hair cut the day before?  He was very proud of his new blue shirt and pointed it out to me several times during the session!

And here are a few really sweet ones of him and his big sister.  These make my heart do flips!

And last but certainly not least, the little princess.  She wasn’t really all that interested in being photographed that day, but I managed to get some sweet ones of her anyway.  She was really perfectly content to crawl up and down that little ramp the whole time!  I would run to one end, and she would turn around and crawl the other way, that little stinker!  She especially enjoyed the snacks her mom brought and tried to raid the stash while we weren’t looking . . . smart girl!

Mom and dad, I’ll have your gallery up by the end of the day.  Thanks so much for letting me photograph your family!

sweet baby girl

This little girl is four months old, and she is just as precious as she can be!  I held her for a little while, and she was so soft and warm and cuddly and smelled so good!  She was beginning to get a little sleepy, but we managed to get some really sweet images.  I especially love the one of her and her mommy!  Okay, everyone let out a collective, “awwww!” . . . .

Cutie Pie

I had the joy of spending last Saturday morning with this cutie pie and her parents.  I’ve been photographing her since she was six weeks old, and now she’s running all over the place and talking {sniff, sniff}.   She even said my name :) .  We sang Old McDonald, Twinkle Twinkle, If You’re Happy and You Know It and pretty much just had an all-around good time!  She has the sweetest personality, and I wanted to sneak her back to Nashville with me!  Here are a few favorites for her fabulous mom & dad . . .

brothers

These guys make me smile!  They belong to some very good friends of ours in Memphis, and I got to photograph them last weekend while we were there!  I’ve known “G” – the oldest – since he was about two-years-old, and I remember going to visit his little brother in the hospital when he was born!  They are such sweet boys, and my guys think they’re SUPER cool :) .

These of “C” and his mommy really melt my heart . . .

This is what really happens at a session with me . . . we just play a lot and act super silly!  This one completely cracks me up!

I’m up to my eyeballs in editing right now, so if you had a session with me in Memphis, I’ll post some sneak peeks in the next day or two and will have your galleries ready soon, too.  Seven sessions in eight days is keeping me kind of busy :) .  Thanks for checking in!

a mama & her boy

As a mom of boys myself, I really enjoyed this session.  This handsome guy goes to school with my kids, and his beautiful mom won a complimentary session at the Spring Fundraiser earlier in the year.  We’ve had a hard time getting our schedules together to make this session work out, but it was worth the wait to get these beautiful images at Edwin Warner Park on Sunday.  It was hard to choose, but here are a few of my favorites . . .

We’ll be heading to Memphis tomorrow for a quick trip.  I can’t wait to post some images from the sessions I have there when we return.  I hope you all have a great weekend!

WAY TO GO BRAD!

Brad ran his fourth 1/2 marathon this morning, and I thought I’d post a few pictures for the family AND to say that I’m SUPER proud of him.  I remember watching him run his first 1/2 here in Nashville a few years ago, and I was so proud when he crossed the finish line.  He set a goal and [with a lot of training] accomplished it.  I must admit that I am not a runner, but these races always inspire me to push myself to accomplish my personal goals.  To make today even better, Brad beat his personal record and finished in one hour, fifty-one minutes and fifty-nine seconds!  Our friend, Justin, is Brad’s running buddy for these things.  Because of a leg injury, he wasn’t able to run the full 13 miles; however, he met up with Brad at mile 9 and ran the last few miles with him.  Brad was thankful to have him there to push him along.  Hey, that’s what friends are for, right?!

Do these guys look focused, or what?!

Coming across the finish line . . .yay!

I personally don’t know how anyone can smile after running 13.1 miles, but somehow tons of people were . . . including these two :) .
